Patrick was born in Niagara Falls to the late Lois (Nolan) and Hubert Noonan. He graduated from Starpoint High School in 1962, where he distinguished himself as a talented athlete in track and field, competing in the high jump and pole vault. He also enjoyed participating in the Shawnee Drum Corps, reflecting his enthusiasm for teamwork and community involvement from an early age.
One of the greatest blessings of Patrick’s life was his enduring marriage to his high school sweetheart, Gwen (née Gibbs). The couple married on October 24, 1964, and shared 58 years of love, partnership, and unwavering commitment before Gwen’s passing. Those who knew them admired the strength of their relationship, which served as an example of enduring love and devotion. Family members find comfort in believing Patrick has now been reunited with the love of his life.
Patrick will be remembered as a true gentleman whose kindness was evident in every aspect of his life. Whether holding a door open for a stranger, offering assistance to a neighbor, or lending a helping hand to a friend, he consistently demonstrated generosity and genuine concern for others. His warm personality, quiet humility, and thoughtful nature made him someone people naturally admired and trusted.
Family was always at the center of Patrick’s life. He treasured every opportunity to spend time with his children, grandchildren, and extended family, creating memories that will be cherished for generations. Annual camping trips to the Thousand Islands and the Adirondacks became beloved family traditions, while his love for canoe racing, fishing, archery, road trips, and outdoor adventures reflected his appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.
Patrick also found joy in cheering for the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres, attending air shows, listening to music, dancing with Gwen at the Lewiston Jazz Festival, and sharing games of ping pong or catch with his children and grandchildren. His sense of humor and contagious smile brought happiness wherever he went.
Professionally, Patrick dedicated 33 years to the Harrison Radiator Division of General Motors in Lockport before retiring. Even after retirement, he continued working with Niagara Cooler, reflecting the strong work ethic and commitment that defined his life.
He is lovingly remembered by his five children, Sean (Kathy) Noonan, Beth (James) Keleher, Brian (Tonishea) Noonan, Eric (Shannon) Noonan, and Jennifer (Dan Biggie) Noonan, along with his cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, and many lifelong friends whose lives were enriched by his presence.
Although no specific cause of death has been publicly disclosed, Patrick’s family has chosen to focus on celebrating the extraordinary life he lived and the values he passed on through his example.
