The Ewing, Kentucky, community is remembering the life and legacy of Kimberly “Kim” Johnson, who passed away on December 31, 2025, at the age of 64 following a courageous battle with cancer. Her passing has brought profound sorrow to her family, friends, church family, and all who were blessed to know her, while also inspiring gratitude for a life marked by unwavering faith, compassion, and selfless service.
Kim was the beloved wife of Delbert Johnson for 38 years and the devoted mother of eight children. She was the cornerstone of her family, offering unconditional love, steadfast guidance, and unwavering encouragement throughout every season of life. Those closest to her often affectionately described her as both the “keeper of hearts” and the “keeper of calendars,” recognizing her remarkable ability to balance the responsibilities of family life while making each loved one feel deeply valued and supported.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1961 to Clair Damon Boggs and Betty Jo Jordan Boggs, Kim was the third of four children. Following her graduation from Batavia High School, she pursued studies in architecture and design at the University of Cincinnati and Wilmington College, laying the foundation for a life defined by creativity, determination, and entrepreneurial spirit.
Together with her husband, Kim helped establish and grow several successful business ventures, including County Concrete in Flemingsburg, Kentucky. Through hard work, dedication, and perseverance, the business became a significant part of their family’s legacy and reflected the values they built together over the years.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Kim’s greatest passion was serving others. A faithful member of Community Family Church in Independence, Kentucky, she dedicated countless hours to ministry, especially encouraging and nurturing children in their faith. Her love for Christ was evident in the way she lived each day—with humility, generosity, and a sincere desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
Outside of church and family life, Kim found joy in gardening, preserving homegrown food, and expressing her creativity through crafts and life on the family farm. She embraced the simple blessings of everyday life and found fulfillment in caring for both her loved ones and the world around her.
Kim leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory, including her devoted husband, Delbert Johnson; her children, Billie Jo Wood, Dallas Johnson, Farmer Johnson, John Johnson, Sam Johnson, Danielle Johnson, Gavin Johnson, and JB Johnson; and her sisters, Bobbi Bryant and Debbie Reardon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clair Damon Boggs and Betty Jo Jordan Boggs, and her brother, John Boggs.
Family and friends gathered to celebrate Kim’s life during funeral services held on January 9, 2026, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home, where Pastor Tom Bates officiated. She was laid to rest at Elizaville Cemetery, with her sons and son-in-law serving as pallbearers in a touching tribute to the woman who had devoted her life to her family.
Kimberly Johnson will be remembered as a faithful servant of God, a devoted wife, a loving mother, a compassionate friend, and a woman whose life reflected grace, strength, and unwavering love. Her legacy will continue to live on through her family, her faith, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness and generosity.
