Known by many for his infectious smile, positive attitude, and unwavering dedication to helping others become stronger, Israel’s unexpected passing has left family, friends, gym members, athletes, and fellow veterans devastated. Israel was the owner and head coach of ADK Fitness and ADK CrossFit in downtown Glens Falls. Through years of hard work and dedication, he built more than a fitness facility—he created a community where people from all backgrounds felt welcomed, motivated, and supported. His gyms became places where individuals could pursue personal growth, build confidence, and find encouragement from others.
His passion for fitness developed during his military service, where he discovered the power of functional training while deployed overseas. Inspired by the discipline, teamwork, and determination he witnessed among fellow service members, Israel continued his education after returning home and earned certifications through USA Powerlifting, USA Olympic Weightlifting, and CrossFit.
That passion eventually became his life’s mission. After managing Flex Appeal in Lake George, Israel launched ADK CrossFit in 2012, transforming it into one of the Adirondack region’s most recognized functional fitness communities. His vision continued to grow with the opening of ADK Fitness at 80 Glen Street in downtown Glens Falls, a modern 24-hour facility designed to help people of all experience levels pursue healthier and stronger lives.
Outside of business, Israel was deeply committed to mentoring young athletes. He served as a strength and conditioning coach for Glens Falls High School football and basketball programs, as well as the Adirondack Rivermen hockey team. Through his coaching, he helped athletes develop physical skills while also teaching discipline, confidence, and the importance of hard work.
Those who trained with Israel remember him as someone who treated everyone with respect and kindness. Whether working with experienced competitors or individuals stepping into a gym for the first time, he had a special ability to make people feel valued and capable. His encouragement extended beyond fitness, as he often inspired others to overcome challenges and believe in themselves.

Military funeral honors for Israel Del Toro will take place on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, New York. Following the service, family, friends, gym members, and community members are invited to gather at ADK Fitness in downtown Glens Falls for a memorial reception to celebrate his life and share memories.
