As the owner and head coach of ADK Fitness and ADK CrossFit in downtown Glens Falls, Israel became one of the region’s most influential figures in functional fitness. Known for his contagious enthusiasm, unwavering encouragement, and genuine compassion, he built more than a successful gym—he created a welcoming community where people of every age and ability felt supported.
A Life of Service and Leadership
Israel’s commitment to excellence began during his military service, where he discovered a passion for strength and conditioning while deployed overseas. Inspired by fellow service members dedicated to physical training, he immersed himself in functional fitness and went on to earn certifications through CrossFit, USA Powerlifting, and USA Olympic Weightlifting.
After returning to New York, he transformed that passion into a lifelong mission of helping others. He first managed Flex Appeal in Lake George before founding ADK CrossFit in 2012, growing it into one of the largest and most respected functional fitness facilities in the Adirondack region.
His vision continued to expand with the opening of ADK Fitness on Glen Street in downtown Glens Falls, a modern 24-hour training facility designed to serve athletes and everyday individuals alike. Under his leadership, the gym became known not only for its equipment and coaching but for its strong sense of belonging and encouragement.
Inspiring Athletes Beyond the Gym
Israel’s influence reached far beyond his own business. He served as the strength and conditioning coach for numerous local athletic programs, including Glens Falls High School football and basketball teams, as well as the Adirondack Rivermen hockey organization.
Whether coaching competitive athletes preparing for championships or newcomers taking their first steps toward healthier lives, he approached every individual with patience, positivity, and respect. Friends and members often described him as someone who celebrated every achievement, no matter how small, and inspired confidence in those around him.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, New York.
Following the service, a memorial reception and celebration of life will take place at ADK Fitness in downtown Glens Falls, where those whose lives he touched will gather to share memories and celebrate his remarkable legacy.
